Dear Wayne, Sorry to bother you again, but can you help me identifying a plant? It is an annual (?) and starts early spring with a spherical rosette which in late June early July develops to a set of stems. In the dry place I have them the stem turns reddish/yellow with a white flower on the top. However, the number of petals is 6, sometimes even 7, number of stamens also 6. In August it disappears, but it sows freely and next spring several spherical, cone like, plants arise. I enclose two photos, the one with 6-petals is dominating. An alternative would be S. villosum, but it is not hairy, and the petals are definitely not five. Is is it a sedum at all, although, quoting Evans, "Well it looks more like a member of the genus Sedum than of any other genus, so a sedum it shall be". Regards Kaj

Definitely no doubt about it being S. hispanicum which acts as an annual in lots of areas. Best Wishes, Ray Stephenson
