The origin of this species is in doubt. It resembles some of the Chinese species more then those in Mexico. Needle like bright green foliage on growth that is first upright and then spreading. Flowers are eye-catching golden-yellow with orange-red anthers. Likes moist soil in shady areas. Only partially hardy.
